INTRAWARE GIVES ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE PUBLISHERS IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND INCREASED FLEXIBILITY WITH ENHANCED VERSION OF SUBSCRIBENET

ORINDA, Calif. - March 13, 2006 - Intraware, Inc. [NASDAQ: ITRA], today announced enhancements to its SubscribeNet® solution that include more robust functionality for enterprise software publishers to better streamline their export compliance screening. Additional changes include improvements to system performance and usability. Many of the recent enhancements to the SubscribeNet service are based on customer feedback during Intraware's SubscribeNet User Conference in October 2005.

"The latest enhancements to SubscribeNet build on our nearly ten years of continuous investment in digital delivery solutions and reaffirm our technology leadership with tools that give enterprise software publishers more control over the delivery, tracking and management of their software, licenses and other digital content," said Richard Northing, Chief Operating Officer of Intraware.

Transaction and Data Warehouse Database Upgrade

Intraware recently migrated its hosted instances of the SubscribeNet application to upgraded transaction and data warehouse database servers. Along with some application changes, these servers improve the performance of the SubscribeNet service and SubscribeNet Manager module, resulting in application screens returning more quickly and reduced transaction processing times.

"Recently SubscribeNet performance has improved dramatically as a result of the database upgrades. In January, average response times around the world for our software download site were reduced from 14 seconds to 6 seconds per page download, and overall site availability exceeded 99.5%,"" said James Hamilton, Support Business Systems Project Manager, Mentor Graphics Corporation.

SubscribeNet's Improved Export Compliance Screening

Intraware has also enhanced the SubscribeNet export compliance screening process. With the SubscribeNet service, customers can improve compliance with export controls through a US Government-validated screening and reporting system. Now a portion of the screening is a runtime check against the physical location (country) of the user attempting to download. SubscribeNet utilizes a geographic location service to determine the country of the user system based on its IP address. The screening process now has an approximately 99 percent accuracy rate and eliminates the ambiguity around non-country-specific domain names.

One of SubscribeNet's key differentiators is its ability to perform export compliance checks at the time of download whereas Intraware competitors conduct compliance checks at the time of order.

SubscribeNet's New Version of Download Accelerator

<>A new version of the SubscribeNet Download Accelerator is now available. Download Accelerator has the following enhancements:
  • Improved user interface
  • Decreased errors associated with the use of Internet Explorer
  • Decreased amount of system memory consumed when downloading large files

More SubscribeNet Updates

The SubscribeNet service allows the software publisher to specify product availability, rules for customer and order management, branding, and degree of end-user activity insight, for each sales channel. Intraware has made significant improvements in the product that addresses the clutter issue of historical data and its customers' need to alter behavior in certain cases for transactions against inactive members and accounts. Intraware has simplified the use of the View Account, Search, and Order Transaction sections of the product.
